“A” grades from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are considered to be the gold standard measure of patient safety
VANCOUVER, Wash. – PeaceHealth medical centers have once again been awarded “A” grades from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades for spring 2024. PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington, PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview, Washington, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington, and PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon were all recognized with “A” grades.
“At PeaceHealth, we’ve set the bar high. Our goals and standards for safety and quality are ambitious, guided by data and supported by evidence-based systems and processes,” shared PeaceHealth Chief Physician and Clinical Executive Doug Koekkoek, MD. “Our commitment to the health and safety of our patients and caregivers is unwavering, demonstrated by our medical centers’ 5th consecutive ‘A’ grades from The Leapfrog Group.”
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
