Want to say thank you to a nurse? Nominate them for The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses!
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way. To learn more, visit DAISYFoundation.org.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award was created to shine light on those who do not typically have direct patient care as part of their work. This award gives staff a way to express their gratitude for the compassionate environment Nurse Leaders provide. This award is used to recognize Nursing Directors, Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Managers, Professional Practice Leaders, Clinical Nurse Educators, Nurse Navigators, Chief Nursing Officers, Charge Nurses, Facilitators, or other members of Nursing Leadership Team.
Do you know a leader who engages and motivates nurses, creates an environment of trust and compassion, serves as a role model, or makes a lasting impact on the staff and patient care they lead? Nominate them for The DAISY Nurse Leader Award!
