Daniel Mattox, DO, has joined Peace Harbor’s Emergency Medicine department. He most recently completed the Corewell Health Lakeland Emergency Medicine Residency program with a focus on wilderness medicine and served as a member of the clinic associate faculty at the Michigan State University College of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. “I enjoy critical care and the procedural aspects of emergency medicine and feel like you are doing procedures that are the highest level of our job,” he said. “That is one of the things I like to do the most.” He is continuing his training in wilderness medicine by working toward a Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness medicine and hopes to continue with medicine in Oregon’s wide swaths of wilderness areas. He was drawn to the Oregon Coast for its beauty and numerous opportunities for him to continue following his outdoor pursuits.
