Danielle K. Dellner PHD

Danielle Dellner, Ph.D., joined the PeaceHealth Inpatient Behavioral Health team in Bellingham in February 2023. Dr. Dellner earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology with a minor in education studies from the University of California - Los Angeles and completed both a master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Alliant International University (formerly the California School of Professional Psychology) in Los Angeles. Her emphasis was individual, family and couples therapy. Dr. Dellner has had an array of clinical experiences, working with individuals, families and groups in a range of treatment settings: inpatient mental health, inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, wilderness therapy centers and outpatient clinics. She has also taught and trained clinicians, interns and practicum students. She completed a pre-doctoral internship at Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, California. Her medical interests include body-based approaches to healing trauma, such as somatic experiencing and teaching patients skills to regulate their nervous systems, as well as outdoor, art and group experiential therapy. Regarding practice philosophy, Dr. Dellner said, "One of the biggest honors in my career has been bearing witness to human healing, growth and the ability to thrive. I believe in the power of allowing ourselves to be human, and in the healing power of connection, compassion and community. In addition to evidence-based practice, I use creativity to help my patients find and live their unique strengths." In her free time, Dr. Dellner enjoys skiing, backpacking, snowshoeing, sea kayaking and traveling.
