Hope M. Richards MD

Dr. Hope Richards joined the Bellingham PeaceHealth OB-GYN team in 2024. “My role is to walk alongside patients in their health journey,” she says about her practice philosophy. “I prioritize patient centered care and evidence-based medicine. I enjoy developing relationships with patients through the many stages in life that can involve an OB-GYN.” Dr. Richards received her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Wash., and also holds a master’s degree in health administration from University of Washington School of Health Sciences. She completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Before joining PeaceHealth, Dr. Richards practiced at a small, private OB-GYN group in Cheyenne, Wyo. Dr. Richards is trained in minimally invasive surgery techniques including robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery. She also maintains ongoing certifications in neonatal fetal resuscitation and fetal heart rate monitoring, as well. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and spending time outside, biking, walking her dogs and hiking with her family. Her brother is also a physician in Bellingham, practicing anesthesiology.
