Biography

Dr. Hawn attended medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and completed his internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School Hospital. He then completed a cardiology fellowship at University of Oregon Medical School Hospital in Portland. Dr. Hawn has been on active status at Sacred Heart Medical Center since 1974. In that time, he has served as the Medical Director of Electrocardiography, the Chief of Cardiology, and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. He served as a Fellow with the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco for nine months and is currently a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, where he served as the Oregon Governor for three years. He was also a member and chairman of the Critical Care Committee at Sacred Heart for eight years. Dr. Hawn is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine. He is currently a Cardiologist with Oregon Cardiology in Eugene. Dr. Hawn was appointed as the Medical Director for the Heart Failure Center at the Oregon Heart & Vascular Institute which opened April of 2005.
