Biography

Joshua Ostrue, DO, is a family physician whose medical interests include chronic disease management, behavioral health, osteopathic manipulative medicine and geriatrics.

He earned his medical degree from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona, spending time in the Pacific Northwest when doing his clinical rotations. He completed additional training in a rural program through the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic in Mankato, Minnesota.

Dr. Ostrue says his original plan was to become a science teacher and coach. Shortly before graduating from high school, he participated in a medical service trip to Uganda where he contracted malaria and became very ill. While sick, he saw firsthand the impact local physicians can have on a patient’s mental, physical and emotional health, and he knew then that he wanted to become a doctor.

“My goal with every patient is to meet them where they are at in their health journey and to provide them with the great care that I would ask for myself and my family,” shares Dr. Ostrue.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ostrue says his personal goal is to complete one Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle on his own. When not working on the crossword, he enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and two rescue dogs. Other interests include traveling, live music, trying to play guitar, and outdoor activities that include golfing, hiking and skiing.
