Julia Swanson, MD, is a cardiovascular surgeon who is triple board certified in general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and congenital cardiac surgery. Dr. Swanson earned her medical degree and completed her surgical residency at Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU). She received advanced training in Cardiothoracic Surgery from both Stanford University School of Medicine and the University of Virginia Medical Center. Dr. Swanson also completed training in congenital cardiac surgery at Texas Children's Hospital. Well known throughout the region for her outstanding patient care, Dr. Swanson has special interests in heart valve repair, aortic surgery, and treatments that restore blood flow to the heart. “I am dedicated to putting patients first, ensuring patients and their families are at ease from the first appointment to care after surgery. Those connections are what makes working hard to help patients so rewarding,” shares Dr. Swanson. While practicing full-time at PeaceHealth Southwest, Dr. Swanson also serves as Assistant Professor/Cardiothoracic at OHSU.
