We are delighted to welcome Kaärsten Lang, MD, back to our community. She knows PeaceHealth United General Medical Center well, having practiced here in the past. An orthopedic surgeon, with more than 20 years’ experience, she has a special interest in hand and upper extremity surgery. She has worked extensively with issues such as cubital and carpal tunnel syndrome; overuse syndromes, such as tendinitis in the hand and elbow; trigger fingers; and arthritis of the thumb. Additionally she offers nonoperative management of spine, shoulder, hip and knee problems; and treatment of Dupuytren’s contracture, as well. She also handles worker’s compensation cases. Dr. Lang is married to Les Richards, MD, a pediatrician in Anacortes. They have two children. Their son, Jefferson, is 20, and their daughter, Kallan, is 16. In her spare time, she enjoys paddle boarding and walking the family dog, Landry. She is an avid reader of historical fiction, spy novels, and murder mysteries. She enjoys gardening, particularly weeding, she says, “because it fulfills my need for immediate tangible results, which is also why I like orthopedics.”
