Dr. Kanwar Sidhu joined the PeaceHealth Psychiatry department in 2024. He sees patients in Bellingham. Before working at PeaceHealth, Dr. Sidhu practiced in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and in Virginia, specializing in addiction treatment and supervising and teaching psychiatry and family medicine residents. Dr. Sidhu received his degrees in Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry, from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Charleston, West Virginia and from the Dayanand Medical College in Ludhiana, India. He also holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the Government Medical college in Amritsar, India. He served as chief resident of the Department of Behavioral medicine and Psychiatry at West Virginia University in Charleston, West Virginia. His goals with his patients are “providing collaborative treatment while respecting autonomy,” he said. Dr. Sidhu speaks Hindi and Punjabi fluently. Dr. Sidhu is board certified by the following organizations: American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; the American Board of Addiction Medicine; the American Board of Preventative Medicine and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Canada. In his free time, you can find him hiking or relaxing with a good book.
