Karen S. Woo DO

Karen Woo, DO, FACOS, FACS, joined the PeaceHealth Medical Group General Surgery team in 2016. Dr. Woo's practice philosophy emphasizes the intricate internal relationships of structure and function, with an appreciation of the body's ability to heal itself. Dr. Woo comes to PeaceHealth after working as head of general surgery at Naval Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. While serving as a general surgeon at Naval Hospital, she was deployed as a trauma surgeon with the 2nd Marine Division, Marine Logistics Brigade (MLB) in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. She was commissioned in August 2002 and completed her first military assignment as the ship's surgeon on the USS NIMITZ Air Craft Carrier in Everett, Washington. She has special interests in breast, hernia and gastrointestinal surgeries. She says, "My goal is to do all I can to ensure that the surgery you are considering is an appropriate and healthy option for you." When she isn't in the operating room, Dr. Woo enjoys spending time with her family and embarking on new adventures. She is fluent in Cantonese and loves international travel. She finds solace in exploring the Pacific Northwest.
