Kiana Vakil-Gilani, DO, is a rheumatologist that diagnoses and treats autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions effecting joints, skin and internal organs. Dr. Vakil-Gilani earned a Master of Public Health from OHSU, followed by her medical degree from Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and a residency in Internal Medicine at Maine Medical Center – Tufts University. She then returned to OHSU to complete her specialized fellowship training in Rheumatology. Educating her patients about their diseases and discussing treatment options is an important focus for Dr. Vakil-Gilani. “This allows my patients to more effectively participate in shared decision-making and helps ensure the best outcomes for them.” Away from work, Dr. Vakil-Gilani, who minored in fine arts, still finds time to paint and has had one of her watercolors of a brain stem featured in a neurosurgery journal. Additionally, she and her family enjoy fly fishing, camping, hiking, gardening, cooking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
