Biography
Kimberly is a skilled provider with experience in emergency medicine, intensive care, critical care and rural medicine. Kimberly has a long history of providing care to rural patients. She most recently worked as a hospitalist in a critical access hospital in Western North Carolina. She started her medical career as a phlebotomist and medical assistant while going to nursing school. She worked in ER, ICU and surgery as a staff nurse then as a house supervisor in Chattanooga, TN, before training as a nurse practitioner. Kimberly is currently completing a post-master’s adult and geriatric acute care nurse practitioner certification. Kimberly is eager to return to rural family practice and looking forward to the opportunity to build relationships with patients, applying her teaching and critical care skills.

I have always loved Kim. But this visit is probably the most disappointing visit I have had with her.

Kim was awesome. She did well to handle my situation even though I think it was probably outside of her scope.
We are very fortunate to have an NP of this caliber in Craig. I recently read a book on what you should look for in an excellent health provider and Kim Barnes meets the highest of standards in all categories. She is one of the best providers I have ever been to. She listens, she cares, and is science based in her health care methods. She also follows up quickly on any referrals or prescriptions.
My provider was caring and interested and was a big help.
