Biography

PeaceHealth St. Joseph Cancer Center welcomed Maggie Glawatz, NP, in 2024. She is an experienced specialist in hospice and palliative care, complex symptom management and serious illness communication.

Maggie received her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in gerontology, from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. She assisted in establishing the outpatient palliative care program for an oncology practice in Lincoln, Nebraska, before joining the team at PeaceHealth.

“It’s more important to know what type of person has the disease, rather than what type of disease has the person,” says Maggie about her philosophy of care. She has received many awards for her caring approach, whether for her development of materials for grieving families or her exemplary service to her patients and clinicians.

In her free time, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family outside, camping, going to concerts or reading.
