Mohammed Aboelsoud, MD, practices with the PeaceHealth Medical Group Gastroenterology team. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Originally from Mansoura, Egypt, Dr. Aboelsoud began his medical training in the U.S. at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as a post-doctoral research fellow in the gastrointestinal (GI) department. He followed this by completing an internal medicine residency before pursuing training and specialty in GI medicine.
“My philosophy is to provide high quality, evidence-based care. I strive to work with my patients to help them through their digestive issues and improve their quality of life,” he said.
Dr. Aboelsoud has an outstanding research base that has focused on fecal microbiota transplant, Hepatitis and colon cancer screenings. Board-certified in internal medicine, he has special medical interests in early diagnosis and screening of colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and GI bleeding.
“I focus on educating my patients about their digestive problems – taking the time to listen and understand their needs and concerns – and help them participate in the decision-making process,” he said.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Aboelsoud enjoys fishing and cooking. He enjoys casting a line in the local waterways and spending time in our beautiful area.
