Rodney Schaffer, MD, has joined the family medicine staff at PeaceHealth Peace Harbor Clinic. He earned his doctor of medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He comes to Peace Harbor from the Pioneer Memorial Hospital and Clinic, a full-spectrum family medicine practice in the eastern Oregon community of Heppner. His philosophy is based on patient-centered, trauma-informed care. “I think active listening is an important therapeutic intervention in patient care,” he said. He is married with four adult daughters and happy to be moving to the coast. In addition to visiting his children and grandchildren, all of whom live in western Oregon, he plans to spend time learning how and where to catch steelhead.
