Susan Cho, MD, joined the PeaceHealth Medical Group Pulmonary team of providers in 2020. Dr. Cho is a seasoned provider with more than 22 years’ experience in pulmonary and critical care. She comes to PeaceHealth from The Corvallis Clinic in Corvallis, Oregon, where she practiced as an inpatient and outpatient pulmonary/critical care physician. Dr. Cho has special medical interests in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, palliative care and women’s issues. “I believe I am here to provide a service to patients and their families – not just try to cure medical issues and disease. I want to help with a patient’s understanding and acceptance of what are frequently frightening and overwhelming situations. I think that the doctor-patient relationship has to be a strong one based upon mutual trust and empathy, so I always try to practice that way,” she said. She chose to practice pulmonary and critical care medicine because she believes this is a field where continuous learning and access to current practices is important. This specialty practice involves processes that affect the whole body, not just the lungs, and she strives to remain as current and clinically knowledgeable as possible. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cho enjoys outdoor activities and has a special interest in reading historical non-fiction. She enjoys visiting museums, watching documentaries and guiltily watching Netflix.
