Biography
We welcomed Lindsay Nelson, ARNP, to the PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center Palliative Care team of providers in 2019. Lindsay comes to PeaceHealth from Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, where she practiced as a hospital-based palliative care nurse practitioner for the past five years. Lindsay puts a special emphasis on fostering a patient-centered approach to medical care and supporting and mentoring non-specialist clinicians in developing a palliative approach to patient care. Lindsay likes to find integrative approaches to relieve suffering. “I work to provide whole-person care to patients and families with serious, life-limiting illness. To me, this means coming to know people on a deeper human level, recognizing their unique needs and finding the right medical tools to support their goals and preferences," she said. Outside of the clinical practice, Lindsay finds joy in nature and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and paddling; cooking and fermenting whole plant-based food; practicing yoga; reading and writing; music and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
