It is with both joy and sadness that we announce Sr. Aileen Trainor will be changing her ministry of service at the end of October. Sr. Aileen will relocate to St. Mary-on-the-Lake in Bellevue, Washington, the Western home of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, PeaceHealth’s founding order.
You can show your gratitude by supporting the Thanksgiving Basket program in Sr. Aileen's honor. This is a tradition that’s lasted nearly a century, and remains a cornerstone to the way Sacred Heart observes the holidays and lives the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.
Sr. Aileen – the heart, soul and funny bone of Sacred Heart – has served the last 51 years in the Oregon Network and 56 years overall with PeaceHealth. She joined the nursing team at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham in 1966, and came to Sacred Heart five years later. During her time at Sacred Heart, Sr. Aileen has been a nurse in nearly every unit. She spent the longest time in Urology as a charge nurse and nurse manager. She was actually the very first nurse in Eugene to be certified in urology. Sr. Aileen then moved into Risk Management where she worked for nearly three decades. But to most caregivers today, Sr. Aileen is the one who always brings rooms to life with her jokes, stories and compassion.
Sr. Aileen’s dedication to PeaceHealth has been unmatched and she will be greatly missed by many here in Oregon. We wish her peace, joy and laughter in this next stage of her incredible life.
