The acronym B-E F-A-S-T can help you quickly recognize the symptoms of a stroke and what to do.
A stroke cuts off the blood supply to the brain. The sooner you recognize the symptoms of a stroke, the sooner life-saving and brain-saving treatment can be given.
Here are the signs to watch for and what to do:
- B - sudden loss of balance
- E - sudden change or loss of any vision
- F - facial unevenness or drooping
- A - arm or leg weakness
- S - speech difficulty
- T - it's time to call 9-1-1!
