The Peace Harbor Emergency Department is a Level III Trauma Center, serving the Oregon Coast with people and technology that are ready to handle any life-threatening emergency with Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Surgeons and highly trained nursing and support staff. Peace Harbor Medical Center is easily located from Highway 101 in Florence, Oregon.

Oregon Health Authority Accredited Level III Trauma Center
The Emergency Department at Peace Harbor serves as the entrance to Peace Harbor Medical Center’s Level III Trauma Center, which is staffed and equipped to provide the highest level of care to severely injured individuals.
Emergency Surgical Services
The Emergency Department at Peace Harbor serves as the entrance to Peace Harbor’s Emergency Surgical Services. Its core group of physicians are trained in trauma, critical care, and all aspects of general surgical care and are supported by a team of orthopedic surgeons.
Trauma, Stroke and Chest Pain Care
- Peace Harbor Emergency Department recognizes the importance of time sensitive treatment for traumas, heart attacks and strokes, and has developed streamlined protocols for initiation of trauma care, thrombolytic management of acute stroke and STEMI, as well as developed rapid transfer agreements for definitive management in our regional Stroke, STEMI, and Level I and II Trauma centers.
- If you or someone you are with begins to have chest discomfort, pain, shortness of breath, or any other sign/symptom of a heart attack, call 9-1-1 immediately.
- Do not drive yourself unless you have absolutely no other choice. Upon arrival at the Emergency Department, you will be quickly treated using state-of-the-art technologies and medicine.
Injury Prevention and Trauma Education
PeaceHealth supports Emergency Medical Services, Critical Care Transport, and trauma care providers and agencies through education, medical protocol integration, and quality improvement services. Our team includes a Trauma Nurse Coordinator, Trauma Registrar, and Community Health Worker, all working to prevent injuries in the community, and ensure the highest quality of care is available to the residence on the Oregon Coast.
Siuslaw Heart Safe & Pulse Point
Peace Harbor is working to ensure that access to high quality CPR is available to even the most rural residents of our coastal communities through partnering with Western Lane Fire and Emergency Agency, and utilizing Pulse Point, an application that notifies the community when CPR is needed in public spaces for any volunteer to respond. We are working to train our community on CPR to make this community even more safe for you to enjoy for years to come.
