Diabetic Education at PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center
PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center Diabetes Education Services provides one-on-one counseling and group classes to assist diabetic patients in self-managing their diabetes. Our education program is based on American Diabetes Association recommendations and guidelines.

- Diabetes Basics and Nutrition
- Carbohydrate Counting; Self Blood Sugar Testing; Low Blood Sugar; Physical Activity
- High Blood Sugar/Sick Day Guidelines; Prevention; Complications; Healthy Eating
- Meal Planning; Stress; Medications; Sexual Health; Sleep; Depression; Resources
The 8-hour series of classes cost $330.00 and includes two private one-on-one sessions. Medicare and other insurance can be billed if eligible. Attendees may bring one support person free. Call 228-7685 to pre-register or find out more information.
Our Team
We offer a team approach. This includes services by a registered dietitian and other health care professionals. Our coordinator is a registered nurse and certified diabetes educator.
