Pulmonary Medicine at PeaceHealth Sedro-Woolley Clinic
Pulmonary medicine addresses the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of lung and breathing disorders. Our breathing specialists use pulmonary function testing (PFT). This measures how well your lungs take in and release air. It also measures how efficiently your lungs transfer oxygen into your bloodstream. Diagnosis may also sometimes involve imaging and lab tests.
Common breathing or lung disorders include:
- Asthma
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Interstitial Lung Disease
- Lung Cancer
Our local department works closely with the Bellingham pulmonary department to coordinate care if advanced procedures are ordered. This includes procedures like bronchoscopies, Endobronchial Ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS) or valve procedures.
