Stroke Rehabilitation
Recovering from the effects of stroke involves rehabilitation on many levels. The Oregon Rehabilitation Center, is a nationally accredited, 27-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, located inside Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. This stroke rehabilitation program focuses on helping patients to:
- Increase independence and safety in daily living skills
- Develop mobility, strength and endurance
- Control bowel and bladder function
- Improve language and communication skills
- Adjust emotionally and psychologically to the effects of stroke
- Re-enter and move about the community
- Assess the need for special equipment
- Evaluate and modify the home for the stroke patient
