Early Discharge Visit

Our Early Discharge Visit program supports you and your newborn after birth. If you both meet specific screening criteria, you have the option to return home early from your hospital stay. If you do return home early, your hospital pediatrician, in coordination with your midwife or obstetrician, will order an early discharge visit for you and your baby to be seen in 24-48 hours. This visit is to complete the postpartum and newborn testing and assessments.

• Paper orders are faxed by your hospital nurse to the Childbirth RN Navigator who specializes in caring for new moms and babies.
• The Childbirth Nurse Navigator and/or schedulers will call you to set up your appointment.
• Visits can be scheduled Monday through Saturday. The visit is about 1.5-2 hours long. 
• Please bring your metabolic screening envelope for your visit.
• Please ring the doorbell upon your arrival and we will come greet you.
