The family of 17-year-old Chloe Yates, who was critically injured in a head-on collision on I-5 Monday, Oct. 9, will provide information about her recovery at a news conference Friday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. in the Firstenburg Tower lobby at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
Yates, who suffered significant injuries in the collision, spent six days in critical condition in PeaceHealth Southwest's Intensive Care Unit. On Sunday, Oct. 15th, Yates' health status was upgraded, and she was transferred to the medical center's orthopedic-surgery unit. Yates faces an extended stay in the hospital, followed by a long period of rehabilitation.
Andrew Yates, Chloe's father, will speak at the news conference to thank the first responders and medical staff who worked to save his daughter's life, along with sharing the family's appreciation for the many people in the community who have stepped up to show support for Chloe.
