PeaceHealth has been recognized for the third year in a row as one of the Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America.
The awards program presented by Healthiest Employers® and Springbuk acknowledges the success of PeaceHealth’s employee health and wellness programs spanning all PeaceHealth facilities across Alaska, Oregon and Washington. More than 10,000 employers across the country participate in the awards program, which measures employee participation, health outcomes, leadership commitment and more.
PeaceHealth’s wellness program takes a holistic approach by focusing on the financial health, nutrition, stress management and physical fitness of its employees. Earlier this year, PeaceHealth also launched a new more robust employee assistance program that offers greater access to personalized mental health support that is culturally responsive and evidence-based. These programs are in addition to the resources that have been available to support the needs of caregivers and families during the COVID-19 pandemic, including medical benefit enhancements and emergency funds for those impacted.
As one of only five health systems in the Pacific Northwest to receive this year’s designation, PeaceHealth ranked no. 46 overall in the country. The recognition also comes on the heels of PeaceHealth’s recent no. 1 Healthiest Employer in Washington for organizations with 5,000 or more employees by Healthiest Employers® and Springbuk and the no. 2 ranking in the Portland Business Journal’s list of Healthiest Employers of Oregon.
“This recognition is especially meaningful this year as we approach two years of navigating and adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through it all, our caregivers have continued to care for our patients, themselves and each other—bringing to life our culture of wellness and serving as an inspiration to so many,” said Sarah Ness, PeaceHealth senior vice president and chief of staff. “As the largest employer in many of our areas, our caregivers are making a real difference. They exemplify our Mission and play such an important leadership role in the overall health and well-being of our communities.”

About PeaceHealth: PeaceHealth, based in Vancouver, Wash., is a not-for-profit Catholic health system offering care to communities in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. PeaceHealth has approximately 16,000 caregivers, a group practice with more than 1,100 providers and 10 medical centers serving both urban and rural communities throughout the Northwest. In 1890, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace founded what has become PeaceHealth. The Sisters shared expertise and transferred wisdom from one medical center to another, always finding the best way to serve the unmet need for healthcare in their communities. Today, PeaceHealth is the legacy of the founding Sisters and continues with a spirit of respect, stewardship, collaboration and social justice in fulfilling its Mission.
