Both medical centers received the highest rating possible – 5 stars – from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – PeaceHealth is proud to announce that PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and Peace Harbor Medical Center have received the highest rating possible—5 stars—from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
This rating puts PeaceHealth in the top 10 percent of hospitals in the United States. CMS 5-star ratings evaluate various measures of quality and safety, including patient experience, readmission rates, mortality and hospital-acquired infections.
“Achieving this rating is a team effort, reflecting the hard work and dedication of PeaceHealth caregivers throughout the Oregon network,” said Dr. James McGovern, PeaceHealth Oregon interim chief executive and chief medical officer.” It also is noteworthy that our hospitals met these high standards while also managing the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The 2023 overall star ratings for our PeaceHealth Oregon medical centers are available on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Hospital Compare website:
- Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend’s overall star rating is 5 stars, up from 3 stars.
- Peace Harbor Medical Center’s overall star rating is 5 stars, up from 4 stars.
- Cottage Grove Community Medical Center and Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District did not meet the minimum data volume to receive a star rating.
