COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. –PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Community Medical Center has upgraded its nearly 10-year-old CT scanner to a new, more advanced Siemens X.Cite CT scanner, enhancing the accessibility and care of imaging services for local patients.

The new scanner brings the latest in imaging technology to Cottage Grove, allowing for more specialized heart studies -- including coronary calcium scoring -- and CT perfusion. CT perfusion is a scan used to diagnose acute strokes and is the protocol used at PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and now Cottage Grove will now be able to offer this service as well. Additionally, Cottage Grove will be able to join the Telestroke program, a program that facilitates remote consultations by PeaceHealth neurology providers for patients aged 16 and older in the Emergency Department, using video and audio technology.

In addition to the new scanner, the CT suite has been remodeled with a new overhead patient lift, fresh paint, new countertops, a contrast injector, and new flooring.
