This caregiver in Springfield, Oregon finds joy in helping those in need.
From bake sales and craft-fair fundraisers to serving as a distraction for patients in the hospital, Kathy Mailloux finds joy in supporting those in need.
She brings this same attitude to her job as environmental services lead for PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon.
Being a social justice advocate means treating everyone fairly, Kathy says: "It doesn’t matter if they’re at rock bottom. If they need a hand, they need a hand.”
Kathy is PeaceHealth’s 2024 systemwide Mission and Values Award recipient for Social Justice.
MVAs are PeaceHealth’s highest annual honor. They recognize caregivers for living out PeaceHealth’s Mission and Values (Social Justice, Stewardship, Respect and Collaboration).
