BELLINGHAM, Wash. — PeaceHealth Medical Group (PHMG) welcomes the following new providers to its Bellingham-area clinics:
Julie Cheek, MD, joined the pediatric team of providers at PHMG’s Cordata clinic, located at 4545 Cordata Parkway in Bellingham. Dr. Cheek earned her Doctor of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She then went on to complete a pediatric residency at the University of South Florida, All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she also was a chief resident. Prior to joining PHMG, Dr. Cheek served as a pediatrician at Unity Care NW in Bellingham. She has 24 years of experience providing primary care to underserved children. Dr. Cheek shares, “My greatest joy of pediatric practice is forming a relationship with the child and the child’s parent/caregiver, and working in a partnership with families to help raise their children to be healthy, resilient and productive young adults.”
William Anderson, MD, is now serving patients at the PHMG’s Asthma and Allergy Clinic located at PHMG’s clinic at 4545 Cordata Parkway. Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. Prior to joining PHMG, Dr. Anderson was in private practice as an allergy-immunology specialist at the Asthma & Allergy Center of Whatcom County. He has an interest in evaluating and treating adults and children with a wide variety of allergic/immunologic disorders, including with recurrent or chronic upper and/or lower respiratory tract disorders. He also enjoys evaluating and providing guidance for allergic reactions caused by food, insect stings and medications.
Robert Lessard, PA-C, is a new member of PHMG’s Internal Medicine team of providers. Robert holds a Bachelor of Medicine – Physician Assistant degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Prior to joining PHMG, Robert worked at Skagit Regional Clinics in Mount Vernon. His diverse medical background includes work as a cardiac catheterization technician at hospitals in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He is interested in sports medicine and routine musculoskeletal injury management as well as general routine cardiology care. Robert shares, “I like getting to know my patients and helping to educate them about their acute and chronic health issues.”
Lynette Polinder, CNM, ARNP, joined PHMG’s Obstetrics and Gynecology team of providers. Lynnette earned her degree in Nursing-Midwifery at the Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky. Prior to joining PHMG, Lynnette served patients as a certified nurse-midwife on the childbirth unit at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, Michigan. Early in her career, Lynette served as a registered nurse at a government primary healthcare clinic in northern Thailand where she also helped to organize mobile clinics to remote villages. Lynette shares, “It is a privilege to be with women throughout their journey into motherhood.”
