Instructions

This medicine is given as an injection.

Read and make sure you understand the instructions for measuring dose and using syringe. If you have any questions, talk to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Always inspect the medicine before using.

The liquid should be clear and dark brown.

Do not use the medicine if it is cloudy, contains flakes or large particles, or if it has changed color.

Keep medicine at room temperature. Protect from light.

Speak with your nurse or pharmacist about how long the medicine can be stored safely at room temperature or in the refrigerator before it needs to be discarded.

Never use any medicine that has expired.

A test dose of this medicine must be given under medical supervision to check for a possible, severe allergic reaction. A full dose can be given after being monitored for 1 hour.

If using this medicine at home, ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist to show you or a family member how to use this medicine correctly.

You must be monitored by a health care professional during and after each dose is given.

It is important that you keep taking each dose of this medicine on time even if you are feeling well.

Side Effects

  • feeling of heat or flushing
  • fever or chills
  • numbness or tingling in hands and feet
  • headaches
  • pain, redness, swelling near injection
  • nausea and vomiting

Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you notice any of these more serious side effects:

  • severe or persistent abdominal pain
  • severe allergic reaction
  • blurry vision
  • chest pain
  • dizziness
  • fainting
  • severe or persistent headache
  • fast, irregular, or slow heartbeat
  • joint or muscle pain
  • red, burning, or itchy skin
  • seizures
  • shortness of breath

A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
