Instructions

Shake the medicine well before use.

Keep the medicine at room temperature. Avoid heat and direct light.

This medicine is for use in the nose. Avoid getting the medicine into the eyes or mouth. Rinse the eyes with water if the medicine is sprayed into the eyes.

Ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist to show you how to use this medicine correctly.

The first time you open a new spray bottle, you need to get it ready to use. Point the bottle away from you and spray into the air 6 times. You should see some medicine come out while doing this. It is now ready to use. This process is called priming the spray.

Read and carefully follow package instructions for preparing, using and cleaning the pump.

Blow and wipe your nose with a clean tissue before using this product.

Sit up straight or stand, and tilt the head slightly forward before spraying.

Insert the tip of the spray bottle into the nostril. Spray into the nostril by pressing down evenly on both sides of the pump.

Do not spray the medicine directly on the middle wall of your nose (nasal septum).

Do not blow your nose for at least 15 minutes after using this medicine.

Keep track of number of times sprayed. Do not use more than the total number of doses shown on the package.

If you forget to take a dose on time, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, do not take the missed dose. Return to your normal schedule. Do not take 2 doses at one time.

Drug interactions can change how medicines work or increase risk for side effects. Tell your health care providers about all medicines taken. Include prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal medicines. Speak with your doctor or pharmacist before starting or stopping any medicine.

Tell your doctor if symptoms do not get better or if they get worse.

Store in original bottle, tightly closed and upright.

Do not share this medicine with anyone who has not been prescribed this medicine.

Keep all appointments for medical exams and tests while on this medicine.

Cautions

During pregnancy, this medicine should be used only when clearly needed. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits.

Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine.

Do not use the medication any more than instructed.

If possible, avoid using with alcohol, marijuana, or other medicines that can cause dizziness or drowsiness. These include allergy/cold products, muscle relaxers, sleep aids, and pain relievers.

Your ability to stay alert or to react quickly may be impaired by this medicine. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine will affect you.

It is unknown if this medicine passes into breast milk. Ask your doctor before breastfeeding.

Side Effects

The following is a list of some common side effects from this medicine. Please speak with your doctor about what you should do if you experience these or other side effects.

  • drowsiness or sedation
  • nosebleeds
  • irritation inside the nose
  • changes in taste or unpleasant taste

Call your doctor or get medical help right away if you notice any of these more serious side effects:

  • swelling of the legs, feet, and hands
  • severe or persistent headache
  • pain or sores in the nose
  • difficulty swallowing
  • unusual or unexplained tiredness or weakness
  • increased urinary frequency
  • blurring or changes of vision
  • yeast infection in the mouth or throat

A few people may have an allergic reaction to this medicine. Symptoms can include difficulty breathing, skin rash, itching, swelling, or severe dizziness. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical help quickly.
