SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has created new challenges across the globe. To help respond to those challenges locally, PeaceHealth has created COVID-19 Emergency Response Funds in each of its communities: Eugene-Springfield, Cottage Grove and Florence.
Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation recently launched a COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund thanks to a generous $25,000 donation from the OCCU Foundation. The fund will be used to support Sacred Heart Medical Center’s COVID-19 response efforts, such as testing, patient care, clinical and administrative staff support and training, and other needed resources and equipment.
“We’re so grateful to our longtime community partners, Oregon Community Credit Union (OCCU) and the OCCU Foundation, for providing the seed gift that will enable this fund to grow. This fund will help our caregivers and providers nimbly address urgent needs related to COVID-19 as they arise,” said Tim France, PeaceHealth Oregon chief development officer.

As we navigate the impacts of COVID-19 during these unprecedented times, we are committed to supporting efforts to help strengthen the overall health and stability of our community,” said Ron Neumann, president & CEO of OCCU and OCCU Foundation Board Chair. “Supporting the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund allows us to quickly leverage and direct resources toward the critical services needed during these challenging times.”
