Cardiothoracic Surgery at PeaceHealth Northwest Medical Center
Cardiothoracic Surgery is a critical component of the comprehensive heart care provided at the Cardiovascular Center at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
Our Expertise
Our surgeons are board-certified fellows of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Chest Physicians. They have expertise in cardiovascular and general thoracic surgery. This includes minimally invasive techniques which allow for less tissue damage, faster recovery and less scarring than traditional surgery. They provide all aspects of adult thoracic and cardiac surgery. We collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, intensivists, nephrologists, vascular surgeons and pulmonologists to provide the most comprehensive heart care available.
Our surgeons are among the only surgeons in the region who perform endoscopic artery and vein harvesting. Thoracic surgery includes surgery for tumors and other diseases of the lung, mediastinum and chest wall. We provide Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS/Minimally-Invasive Thoracic Surgery), rigid bronchoscopy and placement of airway stents for tumors or diseases of the trachea and bronchus.
