MRI technician puts a smile on patient’s face
9-year-old loves to tell his ER story
How many people can relate their emergency room story with a smile?
One PeaceHealth caregiver said her 9-year-old nephew told her all about his experience with a grin on his face.
He and his mom went to the emergency room at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington fairly late one night.
The young man ended up needing an MRI. Much to his delight, the MRI technician brought out a tennis ball to play with as he went through the machine. “My nephew loved it,” the caregiver said.
“My nephew said it was ‘awesome,’” she noted. “He even received a ‘Perfect Patient Award,’ which made his mom happy” since it helped to offset the stressful situation. The certificate is good for a kid-size pizza at a local chain restaurant.
