Patient rejoices over finding a new doctor
Dr. Jordan Albrich, a second-year family medicine resident, helps a new patient feel great under his care.
Changing doctors can sometimes be challenging.
For Brena Adams, making the switch made her so happy, she promptly wrote to share her experience.
Her new physician, Jordan Albrich, MD, is himself a new physician, having earned his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine in 2019.
Dr. Albrich, an Oregon native, returned to the Northwest for the next step in his journey as a resident in the Family Medicine of Southwest Washington Residency in Vancouver, Washington.
Getting acquainted
Brena saw Dr. Albrich for the first time in late July 2020. For the past year, she’d been having a lot of health issues so she was relieved to find that Dr. Albrich took the time to look over her records before the visit. “He was well-versed in my previous care,” she says.
It wasn’t only that he got to know her medical history, but she was particularly grateful that “he got to know me as a person,” she notes. “He asked lots of questions and truly showed he cared.”
The day after the visit, Dr. Albrich gave her a follow-up call to go over her lab results.
Yell it from the rooftops
“He was very open to what I had to say,” Brena says. “He totally exemplifies PeaceHealth’s values and Mission. He truly is an amazing doctor. I would like everyone to know how wonderful he is. I seriously would yell it from the rooftops if I could.”
Dr. Albrich is passionate about full-spectrum family practice with a particular interest in sports medicine and obesity medicine. He’s now a second-year resident in the three-year program that is affiliated with the University of Washington Medical School and sponsored by PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington.
Residents hone their skills
He and the other 23 residents in the program each care for a panel of patients throughout their residency under the direct supervision and mentorship of faculty physicians. Outside of the clinic, they also hone their skills in a variety of ways to prepare themselves for the broad scope of family practice.
It was no surprise to David Ruiz, MD, FAAFP, the director of the residency program and clinical professor, to hear of Brena’s praise for Dr. Albrich.
“Jordan is a magnificent resident…a true ambassador for the program and for PeaceHealth Southwest,” he says.
Brena has one wish…that she’ll never have to change doctors again.
