PeaceHealth Oregon announces new medical leader

Eugene, Ore. –PeaceHealth recently announced a new addition to the Oregon network’s medical leadership. 

As PeaceHealth continues its journey to Clinical Excellence, we remain committed to enhancing physician and provider engagement and improving the delivery of care to the patients, families and communities we are called to serve.  To that end, we are pleased to welcome the newest member of our medical leadership team in Oregon.
 
James McGovern, MD, has accepted the role of vice president of medical affairs for the Oregon network. Working with medical staff leaders, Dr. McGovern will continue to develop the operations of the new medical staff bylaws-based structures, including the Committee for Professional Enhancement. He will also focus his efforts on quality and operations.

“I am excited to be joining a team committed to continuous improvement with the patient and community at the center,” McGovern said. “I am eager to begin contributing what I’ve learned over the last decade and look forward to continuing my personal growth and development at PeaceHealth.”

An experienced physician leader, Dr. McGovern comes to PeaceHealth from Wisconsin-based ThedaCare, where he currently serves as system vice president of medical affairs. His first day will be April 29.
