PeaceHealth names Mary Lou Tate as Oregon network’s new Chief Financial Officer

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – PeaceHealth has named longtime hospital executive Mary Lou Tate as Chief Financial Officer of its Oregon network, effective April 7.
Mary Lou will work closely in partnership with local and system leaders with a focus on financial growth and stewardship. Mary Lou joins PeaceHealth with more than 20 years of operations and finance leadership experience.

Most recently, she served as the CFO at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, where she helped reverse a negative operating margin and led committees to reduce employee turnover and upgrade timekeeping systems. She held executive oversight of numerous departments, including information technology, scheduling, registration and informatics, in addition to accounting, finance and the business office.
Prior to Bay Area Hospital, Mary Lou was also the CFO at Campbell County Health in Gillette, Wyoming, and Morris Hospital and Health Centers in Morris, Illinois. She also previously served as the controller at Saint Alphonsus Medical Center in Ontario, Oregon.
A native of Northwest Iowa, Mary Lou earned her bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and her master’s degree in accounting from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. She holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification for process improvement, in addition to certifications from the Healthcare Financial Management Association in accounting and finance (CSAF), healthcare finance (CHFP) and revenue cycle (CRCR).
